"The times they're a changin'" the poet sings. Everything changes, this world can't stay the same. When we look at history it's clearly visible how dynamic were changes in 20th century. Now we're facing some unpredictable changes as well. Humanity must face new challenges that can irreversibly change the face of public life. We were lockdown, we must take care and greater responsibility of our loved ones, take care of others and ourselves as well. The river of life constantly flows, breaks out of the carved river bed, follows new ways. It can't stay the same.
DeviantArt also changes, who knows if it's for better or worse in the long run. For now I'm not very happy for that reason, it's less functional than old version, it looks like the soul is missing. Since the categories are gone I can't find everything I would like to. Why replace something that works well with something worse? I don't know what's the point of it. But everything is a process, it all didn't happen overnight. We should remember that people create community and give life to such websites, not other way around. Let's be honest in our assessments, don't falsify the true value of art. On this website I have encountered many times situation, when the work of incredibly talented people didn't meet with too enthusiastic reception or passed unnoticed , while the triumphs on the first pages goes to some weird stuff, or even to people who doesn't post their own work. That's just a tip of an iceberg. This discourages many of talented individuals to operate here and makes them treat this place less seriously. It could be so much better. Without the talented people, the artists, DeviantArt won't exist.
As for me and my work. For few past months I was stayin' at home like the most of us, but it wasn't so bad for me. I could still be creative. Maybe I'll even return to some abandoned artistic forms soon. First of all I still focus on photography. At the end of last year I was visting the most beautiful town that I have seen so far in the Polish mountains - Międzygórze, and I was in the Śnieżnik Landscape Park. I had the opportunity to see one of the largest caves in Poland and even look to the closed uranium mine. First photos from this journey have already appeared in my gallery. More are comin'.
If you decide to leave DeviantArt because of eclipse takeover and you would like to stay in touch with my work, you can still find me on facebook.
I was also considering creating an Instagram account. I don't know if it's a good idea though. Anyway, it won't happen anytime soon.
I would like to believe the best is yet to come, but it won't happen by itself. We must take care of it. New adventures and discoveries are still waiting ahead. I wish all of you health, take care.
